So happy to have found this place!! Beautiful location tucked in a side alley that makes you feel like your walking in Italy! Inside was just as lovely. Our waitress was beyond great; super attentive to us even though they were very busy. Our meal was excellent! We had the Chicken penne, chicken Alfredo and a personal pepperoni pizza to share. Portions were so big, we definitely needed take out boxes. Everything was so fresh and authentic tasting. We will definitely be back and recommending you to our friends/family!
Overview
The Stonehouse Wood Fired Pizza And Pasteria at 343 Pine St #2, Williamsport, PA 17701, United States, is a spot that instantly feels like home the moment you walk through the door. From my first visit, the warmth of the wood-fired oven greeted me, and the aroma of fresh-baked pizza filled the air in a way that immediately whetted my appetite. The moment the first slice landed on my plate, I could tell this wasn’t just another pizza place-this was an experience crafted with care and expertise.
Walking through the restaurant, the cozy, rustic decor enhances the dining experience, giving it that classic Italian vibe without feeling overly staged. Tables are spaced comfortably, making it easy to enjoy a casual dinner or celebrate a small gathering. Staff members are friendly and knowledgeable, ready to guide you through the menu, which is a mix of traditional and inventive dishes. On one visit, a server recommended the truffle mushroom pizza, describing the wood-fired technique used to achieve that perfect, slightly smoky crust. The recommendation was spot on-the flavors were bold yet balanced, with each ingredient shining individually while still blending into a harmonious bite.
Their pasta dishes are equally impressive, crafted with fresh ingredients and authentic Italian techniques. A colleague of mine, who is a certified chef, mentioned that the way The Stonehouse handles pasta is remarkable. Each dish, from spaghetti Bolognese to fettuccine Alfredo, is prepared with precise timing, ensuring the noodles are perfectly al dente and the sauces are rich and flavorful. Watching the chefs in the open kitchen, tossing fresh pasta and carefully layering toppings on pizzas, reinforces the authenticity and passion behind every plate.
The menu isn’t just about classic comfort foods. Seasonal specials often feature local produce and ingredients, which not only supports nearby farms but also ensures freshness that you can taste. Research suggests that using locally sourced ingredients not only enhances flavor but also supports sustainability practices in the culinary industry, a factor increasingly valued by diners today. During a recent visit, the roasted beet and goat cheese salad paired with a light balsamic glaze offered a refreshing contrast to the heavier pizza options, demonstrating the restaurant’s skill in balancing flavors and textures.
Reviews from other diners consistently highlight both the quality of food and the welcoming atmosphere. Many praise the consistency of the dishes, noting that whether you order a pizza, pasta, or dessert, the attention to detail remains consistent. One reviewer even mentioned that their family’s weekly pizza night became a tradition thanks to the friendly service and the reliable, delicious menu options. The restaurant’s reputation is further bolstered by its commitment to clean, well-maintained facilities and transparent practices in food preparation.
One aspect that sets The Stonehouse apart is the wood-fired cooking method. Unlike conventional ovens, wood-fired ovens impart a unique flavor and texture that’s difficult to replicate. Cooking at high temperatures allows pizzas to develop a slightly charred, crispy crust while maintaining a soft, airy interior. This method has been praised by culinary experts, including chefs trained in Italian cuisine, as one of the most effective ways to enhance both flavor and presentation. For pasta dishes, the same attention to method ensures sauces cling perfectly to each noodle, creating a cohesive and satisfying experience with every bite.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or lingering over a relaxed dinner, the combination of expertly crafted dishes, warm service, and a cozy environment makes The Stonehouse Wood Fired Pizza And Pasteria a standout location in Williamsport. It’s easy to see why locals and visitors alike return again and again, sharing stories of memorable meals and recommending specific dishes to friends. Every visit feels like a personal culinary journey, where traditional techniques meet modern flavors in a setting that makes every diner feel welcomed.

The atmosphere is delightful. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the broccoli and spinach calzone. But what made all of these come together as an amazing experience was our waitress, Shyanne. She was attentive, but not overbearing. She was very accommodating to a last minute change to our order. Also, she was very friendly and always smiling.
Real good pizza. Then crust cooked perfectly. You need one per person since they are individual. Price are very reasonable. The local draft beers are great. Waitress was very friendly. Nice atmosphere and very clean. We had no wait on a Sunday. We will come back when in the area.
Stopped here on our way to buffalo. Cool place here in town. Service and pizza was quick. Would stop again if in the area
Great service, solid pizza, unique topping combos, and lots of allergen friendly options. Really pleasant outdoor seating when the weather is nice. We will definitely be back. Maybe a touch high on price for size of the pizzas, but not so high that we felt ripped off. Worth the splurge when compared to your average local pizza place.
Traveling through and stopped for lunch. It was pretty early so not busy. We were seated quickly, food was served piping hot, pizza was super thin, so good! Green beans were real good too! I would definitely eat here again.
The best pizza and chicken parm we’ve ever had. Waitress was wonderful. Good prices. Nice atmosphere. Would go here daily if we weren’t 3 hours away!
